Our infamous Summer of Love videos are back this season as we start talking about some of the new R&D projects we have happening at NZ Aerosports. We've kicked off with a tease of our 9-cell non-crossbraced prototype. Watch it here: https://vimeo.com/111820591
Over the next few weeks we'll be introducing all our girls, old and new, to you from the Crossfire3 project. You'll meet Haley, Olga, Tanya and some other girls.
We started work on an improved 9-cell back in 2010 and 2011 in the original Summer of Love along with our high performance prototypes. That project resulted in the development of Petra, Sofia and Leia, our latest high performance and competition wings. We began focusing on the development of those wings, and the process has taught us a lot.
Now it's time to show you what our 25 years of experience and four years of R&D using Computational Fluid Dynamics to develop our high performance canopies can do for the rest of our range!
Our goal is to take all the knowledge and experience we have from Petra, and apply that to our Icarus Canopies sports range. This means re-vamping older designs and also creating brand new ones. It is a long-term project and nothing is ready to release yet.
The 9-cell project isn't all that lies ahead for us. There is much, much more. We'll be working on the Crossfire3, a new Tandem and a wingsuit canopy too.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Vimeo accounts for the next videos and latest news on what's happening behind the scenes in our NZA R&D department. Exciting times are ahead.
