Nick Batsch started off the meet flying Petra to 124.00 meters, the longest distance of the entire competition and setting a new Florida State Record.
William Sharman posted the fastest speed of the competition with 2.301sec, setting a new World Record! Patrick Kaye and Cornelia Mihai set new State and UAE records in Speed and Distance flying Petra. Great work guys!
The competition came down to the wire, with less than 2 points between Nick and Curt with just one round of Zone Accuracy to go. Curt came in and scored a perfect 100, and a few seconds later so did Nick!
In Open Overall Standings, Nick beat Curt to the gold by a mere 1.5 points, and Tommy Dellibac took the bronze. Congratulations to all the competitors!
The new U.S. Team of Canopy Piloting is: Nick Batsch, Curt Bartholomew, Thaomas Dellibac, Galle, Scott Harper, Ian Drennan, Jason Sanders, Ian Bobo, Jessica Edgeington, Mikael Stevens, Windmiller and Robert Wallace.
In addition, elite canopy pilots of every nationality were vying to break continental, national and world records. When the meet was over, a number of new records were set:
