Nick Batsch flew his Petra 66 in the 2012 USPA National Championships of Canopy Piloting last week and set two brand new ‘competition’ Distance World Records.
The 66 was a brand new wing that Nick received just a week before the event. In round one of distance he set a world record of 143.27 meters under the new rules. On Friday, June 15 the event came to an exciting finish at Skydive the Farm, with Nick surpassing his own pending world record from the previous day to set a new distance competition record of 151.95 meters.
It’s not quite the 222.45 meters performance record he set last year at PD Big Boy Pants before the recent rule change – but we’ll take it! Congratulations Nick, love your work!
The US Nationals finished with Nick scoring gold in the Distance event, third in the Speed event and second overall.
