11/14/06-The new Daedalus canopies canopy designer went online today! Click on the "canopy designer" button in the menu or go to www.daedaluscanopies.com/canopydesigner.htm to start choosing your canopy colors today! The program lets you choose you canopy colors on all parts of the canopy including the cross bracing separate from the ribs with ZP and sail material.
 
10/01/06-U.S. pilot Nick Batsch nearly beat the current FAI distance world record flying his new DAEDALUS JVX HYBRID 79 with a huge 665ft swoop during the Distance event of the German swoop competition October 1, 2006 at Skydive Leipzig in Roitzschjora, Germany! Read the whole story
 
09/10/06-Jim Slaton announced today that the new Team Extreme will all be flying Daedalus canopies and will start competing in 2007! Team Extreme will be the competition team of the World Parabatic Swoop Team. Learn all about the new Team Extreme
 
07/4/06- Daedalus USA has announced today that it will offer the "JVX HYBRID". The hybrid will be made of both ZP and sail material. The JVX hybrid will offer the advantage of sail material while keeping the packing volume smaller than a JVX made of all sail material.
 
06/10/06- US pilot Mark Shimmel swooped the furthest distance (436.70ft) during the Pro Swooping Tour's 2006 Canopy Cup flying his JVX. Paul Rossouw actually flew the furthest distance (550.00ft) during the competition with his JVX 92 but slightly touched the surface of the water during the run which disqualifed it.
 
06/09/06- US pilot Nick Batcsh received the fastest time of the Pro Swooping Tour's 2006 Canopy Cup flying his JVX 87.
 
06/07/06- "Pro" pilot Paul Rossouw just received his third JVX for competition. His latest weapon of choice is a JVX 92 made with sail material.
 
01/01/06-Cascaded lines now come standard on the GLS and GLX. Continuous lines are still an option for those pilots who still want them.
 
11/09/05-Jim Slaton won the 2005 Blade running competition & championships in California USA flying a Daedalus GLX 125. The competition featured a four round speed event using a 2,200ft long, six gate course. Read the whole story
 
08/07/05-Paul Roussow has won the 2005 Pro Swooping Tour's "Swoop Festival" flying his new JVX 92. Paul beat out 31 other competitors at Skydive Chicago U.S.A. to take home the gold medal and $1,500 cash. Read the whole story
 
06/07/05-Clint Clawson has won the Pro Swooping Tour's 2005 "Triple Crown of Freestyle Swooping" in Atlanta, Ga U.S.A. Clint Clawson won $1,500 flying his Icarus VX 89 and performed some spectacular maneuvers never before seen. Read the whole story
 
05/01/05-Daedalus factory pilot Duane Hall has won the 1st ever ground launch competition at the Ground Launch Center in California flying his GLX 130. The competition was part of the Pro Tour's 2005 U.S. Canopy Piloting Grand Prix.
 
02/21/05-Jim Slaton, Clint Clawson & JC Colclasure have been selected as part of 10 International canopy pilots that have been selected for the IOC World Games (under the patronage of the Olympic Committee) to be held in Germany July 13-20, 2005. Read the whole press release here
 
01/05/05-Icarus & Daedalus test pilot Jim Slaton will be at the 2005 NZPF Nationals giving seminars on canopy piloting and he will be performing demonstrations with the new JVX.
 
01/01/05-The Ground Launch Center in California, USA is offering a free Ground launching camp (value $500 USD) to pilots who purchase a new GLX or GLS Daedalus canopy from Icarus NZ. The GLC is headed up by Jim Slaton.
 
11/11/04-Icarus Test pilot Luigi Cani flies worlds smallest parachute with birdman on National TV.
 
10/13/04-Jim Slaton wins 2004 US Nationals of canopy piloting flying a JVX Daedalus from  NZ Aerosports. Jim beat out 41 other competitors and took gold in the Speed event, Silver in the Accuracy event and Gold overall. Jim had 2nd place in distance going into the last round of the semi-finals but came up a little short to receive a medal in every event!
 
09/17/04-JC Colclasure has broke the distance world record. The Icarus Team Extreme member made this incredible swoop at the Dutch Swooping Tour competition at DZ Stadtlohn, swooping a distance of 132.85 mtr (435.86 ft.). There was only moderate cross-wind. There were 10 DST line judges and the FAI/IPC rated Chief Judge. The entry gates were to PST standard and equipped with the DST sensor system with 100% proof of passing the 5 ft. entry.
